Letter from August 19th, 2020
I hope this note finds you all healthy and in good spirits. The last several months have been an incredible challenge and I commend you all for getting thru the summer as safely and competitively as possible. Few will know just how hard we all worked to make this summer lacrosse season happen. Way to go.
The National ALL STAR Games are scheduled to go off on the weekend of September 26th and 27th , 2020 in Bel Air MD. We are going to move the location to DE TURF in Delaware on those same dates to get access to all turf and lights. We believe when the summer traffic slows that DE will be one of the first states to come off the quarantine travel lists that MD may stay on for a while. We also looking to secure fields in PA as a backup just in case.
We do not anticipate any further date change at this time.
Well over a thousand players have registered to tryout for teams and some 350 are already registered for their actual regional teams. We are getting there finally! The quality of the player registered is top notch. We are seeing great interest from the best players across the USA. The PACIFIC North West and South West teams are all set. The MID America teams are all set. SOUTH region is all set. MD is set. NJ is hosting Final 44 games this weekend to complete their process. CT will be inviting their players by September 1st. MID AMERICA North has Tryouts scheduled in Indiana on August 30th. NEW YORK invite lists are almost complete. SUFFOLK, NASSAU, NEW ENGLAND , PENNSYLVANIA and DMV are putting the finishing touches on lists as I write this message to you. Unfortunately in most areas with all the changes and schedule bumps holding actual tryouts this summer has proven to be too much to accomplish. So for weeks we have been reviewing film submitted and talking with numerous high school and club coaches to gather a select list for the inaugural National Games from most regions. That process has been long, but fun and uncovered some great kids in our opinion. Final Selections will be coming out over the next two weeks from those regions not already complete. We truly appreciate everyone’s patience and encouragement as we have worked thru these trying times together!
A couple of administrative adjustments:
The office will be monitoring the firstname.lastname@example.org address for your questions and that will be the email address that sends out the selections.

Players in regions where we don’t hold an actual tryout and who do not make that regions team will receive refunds. We have processed many refunds already in those regions that are complete.
Your tryout fee does get applied in full towards the actual event fee. We are communicating and keeping folks happy so far! Again please know we appreciate your patience.

- Players are randomly assigned jersey numbers and teams for what is considered a “blind tryout”.
- Each team will be assigned a coach for the whole tryout to ensure players rotate thru games in an orderly fashion and to provide quality feedback on players attitude and effort.
- Each evaluator will be provided an evaluation sheet that consists of tryout numbers and position. This considered a “blind tryout”.
- After the first tryout, all evaluators and coaches will meet and discuss the players performance by position.
- Half way thru the 2nd tryout most players will be let go and the final group will be put thru a combination of skills work and a final scrimmage.
- The final team will be selected after a coaches meeting following the final scrimmage.
- There will be no 2nd team selected, or other offerings for those who did not make the team.
- There will be NO walk ups the day of the Tryout. Registration will close at midnight the day before the tryout is being held.
