Nationals Outlast Americans, 16-14, In Sixth Annual National Senior All-American Game
Sparks Glencoe, Md. - The 2025 National Senior All-American Game at the US Lacrosse Stadium, presented by the National All Star Games, brought together the best-of-the-best lacrosse talent from the high school 2025 senior class to clash, highlighting the most elite performers in the nation. In a wall-to-wall contest - as the annual Senior All-American Game always is - the Nationals team claimed victory over the Americans squad, 16-14, with Nationals’ netminder Aidan Seibel tabbed as the MVP of the game with eight saves in his half of play.
10 different players found the net for the Nationals throughout the game, led by Cam Kelley’s hat trick. Owen Crann, Miguel Iglesias, and Teddy Lally each contributed a pair of goals, while Michael Ortlieb notched a game-high two assists. The Americans stayed close throughout, powered by Gary Merrill’s four goals and a hat trick each from Jackson Maher and Brendan Millon. Brady Scioletti added a goal and two assists.
The Americans came out hot to start the contest, scoring the first two of the affair and leading 3-1 by the end of the first quarter. After a slow start, the Nationals used a six-goal second quarter to flip the momentum, overcoming a two-goal first-quarter deficit to take a 7-6 edge heading into the halftime intermission.
Out of the break, Johnny Price of the Americans knotted the score at seven apiece. The two sides traded goals back-and-forth before the Nationals netted one more before the end of the third quarter to own an 11-9 advantage. The Americans trailed by just one goal on two occasions in the final 12-minutes, but the Nationals continually answered and did not forgo the lead at any point in the fourth period.
The Nationals held slight edges in several key categories: shots (58-51), ground balls (45-34), and caused turnovers (15-7). Defensively, MVP Aidan Seibel led the Nationals with eight saves, while Joshua Marcus and Matthew McKane combined for 16 stops in goal for the Americans.
Despite winning the faceoff battle (17-of-32), the Americans’ 22 turnovers in comparison to the Nationals’ 15 was a key to success for the Nationals squad.
The 2025 National Senior All-American Game showcased the skill and intensity that define the next generation of men’s lacrosse standouts. The best players from across the country demonstrated the dedication behind their success and once again upheld the sport’s tradition of excellence on a national stage.
