NATIONALS WIN OVERTIME THRILLER IN FOURTH-ANNUAL NATIONAL SENIOR ALL AMERICAN GAME

SPARKS, Md. - A showdown of the most elite high school senior lacrosse players from across
the nation ended with University of Maryland-bound Spencer Ford finishing a game-winning
shot to cap an electrifying 15-14 overtime victory for the Nationals. The finest talent from
around the country showcased their ability in the high-paced, action-packed contest that was
the fourth-annual National Senior All American Game on July 21, 2024 on Tierney Field at the
USA Lacrosse facility in Sparks, Maryland.

With his five-goal, two-assist performance, including the game-winning overtime goal, Spencer
Ford was named Most Valuable Player. He led all players with seven points and guided the
Nationals to victory. Caden Harshbarger (North Carolina) scored two goals and dished out one
assist for three points, Hunter Aquino (Penn State) totaled two goals and Daylin John-Hill
(Jacksonville) had two points on one goal and one assist to round out Nationals players with
multi-point performances.

The Americans were paced offensively by Peter Buonanno (Princeton) who scored a team-
leading four goals. Jack Ransom (Georgetown) tallied four points with two goals and two
assists in the outing. Brady Porkorny (Notre Dame) had two goals and Connor Gately (Yale)
produced one goal and one assist to cap the American performers with multiple points.
After 15 minutes of play, the Americans owned a 4-2 advantage over the Nationals. A defense-
oriented second quarter saw the Nationals inch closer as the sides went into halftime with the
Americans in front, 5-4. The offense opened up in the second half for both sides with 12 total
goals in the third quarter and seven in the fourth.

The Nationals racked up seven goals in the third period to propel ahead of the Americans and
have an 11-10 edge heading into the final 15 minutes of play. The intensity kicked up in the
fourth-quarter battle that saw the Americans score four goals and the Nationals score three to
force extra lacrosse. Tensions was through the roof heading into the sudden-victory overtime
before Ford delivered the game-ending shot and secured the 15-14 victory for the Nationals.
Statistically, both squads were evenly matched in shots, ground balls and turnovers, reflecting
the energy and passion the players brought to the contest. Goalkeepers Ben Friedman (Yale)
and Hayes Schreiner (Penn State) stopped 11 total shots for the Nationals, Freidman with six
saves and Schreiner with five. Graham Stevens (Harvard) finished with six total saves for the
Americans.

The 2024 National Senior All American Game was a testament to the talent and
competitiveness that the future stars of men’s lacrosse embody. The highest-performing
lacrosse players in America displayed the results of their hard work and contributed to another
year of representing the sport of lacrosse with excellence.
