Tomas Rodriguez, Mad Dog
Throughout my college years, I’ve focused my efforts heavily on athletics and achieved success as a Lacrosse Athlete at the Division 1 & 2 levels.
Athletic Highlights:
*** Named to the Puerto Rico Lacrosse National Team roster for the 2018 Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) World Championships.
2019 Season:
Played in all 17 games, making 15 starts… Collected 25 ground balls and 15 caused turnovers… Also scored a pair of goals… Scored first goal as a Setter against Saint Rose on March 30… Had season-high four ground balls against Saint Michael’s on March 23.
2018 Season:
Saw action in 11 games… Collected 17 ground balls while causing five turnovers… Had an assist against Saint Rose on March 31 for lone point of the season… Nabbed four ground balls against AIC (March 10) and SNHU (March 17)… Appeared on the NE10 Commissioner’s Honor Roll for the spring.
My passion for Lacrosse didn’t end there, however, as I also served as an Assistant Coach in my spare time. Recently, I was promoted to Head Coach after demonstrating strong leadership capabilities, as well as exceptional judgement and decision-making while under pressure.
Coaching Highlights:
Head Lacrosse Coach for Mad dog club Lacrosse
Assistant Lacrosse Coach at Cathedral Catholic
Promoted to Head Coach position at Showtime Lacrosse as a result of a successful track record of performance and the ability to lead the team most effectively
o Served as the youngest Head Coach on the team
o Selected to coach the All-Star Game based on exceptional performance
By managing academics, athletics, and coaching simultaneously, I’ve developed strong time management and multitasking capabilities. While being a college athlete taught me the value of team work and self-discipline, coaching helped me hone in on my leadership and communication skills. In everything I do, I bring a relentless work ethic, competitive spirit, and enthusiasm. Integrity stands at the top of my work philosophy.
